The multi-year agreement involves the supply of a new domestic smart meter specifically developed and manufactured for the Dutch market.
Padua, March 10, 2026 – MeteRSit, a company within the SIT Group and a leading player in the development and production of intelligent gas metering solutions, has been awarded a contract with an expected value of 100 million euros as part of the tender issued by Netbeheer Nederland, involving all Dutch network operators.
The eight-year agreement (extendable up to thirteen years) covers the design, development, and industrialization of innovative residential smart gas meters, specifically designed for the Netherlands market. Initial deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027.
Cybersecurity and hydrogen represent the design pillars of the new meters, which will be equipped with a communication protocol capable of ensuring the highest levels of security in data transmission and operating with various natural gas and hydrogen blends.
During the award process, MeteRSit successfully passed a technical audit involving engineers and specialists from the SIT Group, aimed at verifying design development capabilities and the robustness of production capacity.
